The Royal Borough is a great place to enjoy a night out, and thousands of people do every weekend. However we have spotted that some people are getting hurt as they make their way home, and this blog and campaign is aimed at addressing that issue.

So, here are a few statistics about pedestrian safety in the borough:
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has a good record on pedestrian safety, and in fact it has the second lowest percentage of collisions involving children in the entire country. But there are still issues.

Since 2005 there have been an average of 36 serious or fatal pedestrian casualties on our roads each year.

Pedestrians are consistently the biggest group of road users involved in collisions, and those aged 20-34 are the ones most often involved.

A national report has shown that in 1 in 10 collisions involving pedestrians the pedestrian being impaired by alcohol is a ‘contributory factor’ in why the incident happened..

It’s clear that if you’re out and about in the borough you can put yourself at risk by mixing alcohol and traffic at the end of the evening.. This blog is here to help you stay safe when you’re out enjoying yourself, showing that you can still got out for a good time and make it home safely..
